Private Dog Training

Alana's private training lessons offer the convenience of training your dog in the home environment and provide you and your dog with personal instruction. What separates Alana from other trainers and chain stores, such as Petsmart and Petco, is her knowledge in animal communication and behavior, her educational background in teaching and science, and her humane training methods. Private lessons focus on enhancing your skills so your dog will listen to you, trust your judgement and leadership abilities, and enjoy learning from you.

Alana gives lessons in housetraining, preventing & resolving chewing, play-biting, and jumping, teaching your dog to come to you, give you attention, wait at doorways, back away from counters, lie down and stay, leave and drop objects, get toys from a toy bin, and walk nicely with you on leash. Alana teaches you how to maintain a relaxed leash while outside and when walking your dog
so that you can develop off leash reliability.

Alana's lessons are approximately 1 hr. 30 min. and vary according to distance and location. She does not charge per hour, but per training session. Packages of lessons are discounted. Friendship packages (small group lessons with you and your friends or neighbors) are also available and discounted.

Training lessons are scheduled by appointment and deposits are required to hold appointment times for new clients. Deposits are nonrefundable. Chain, choke, and pinch collars are not used. Please read Alana's PDF on Harmful and Ineffective Training in her Q&A page.
